I quite enjoyed the ECW's presentation too. I'd grown jaded over the years after Chi-Zine folded because it wasn't paying it's authors on time... or at all. But it's been a decade and I realized that I do provide mid-range publishing houses (gasp! Indie Publishers) as options to clients, friends, and new writers looking trying to understand the business. These were publishing houses I had looked into, researched during my submission days, and learned of their award-winning attitudes and authors. I've even had agents commend them. So, to learn that they were part of the publishing universe where Chi-Zine lived surprised me... and excited me. I've got a new story I'm thinking I'll be submitting to ECW later this year ;)

That's amazing! The ECW presentation definitely gave me a look at a different part of publishing I wasn't familiar with.
